Busy With the Clamor

I wasn’t always aware that noise had a color.

Then I learned that, indeed, it does. There is white noise, pink noise, brown noise, and gray noise.

What is white noise?

White Noise is created by a continuum of frequencies equally distributed over the whole hearing range. In healthcare applications, white noise is used to treat hyperacusis, an increased sensitivity to normal environmental sounds, or to camouflage the annoyance caused by tinnitus, a ringing in the ear occurring without any stimulus. White noise is also used to mask background noises in the office, or to aid in sleep.[1]

In fact, with a push of a button, I now sleep well as white noise fills my room.

Once I learned of white noise, in a deliberate and meaningful action, I drowned out unwanted clamor.

Hear what the Holy Spirit said to us some years ago in one of our prayer meetings:

I want to lead you to a new place. I want to show you things about myself that you do not know. I long to. I long to. But you’re busy with the clamor. I want to teach you to still yourself in my presence and learn of me and truly sit at my feet and hear me speak to you, for there is much I want to say. There is much I need to say.

But you are busy with the clamor…

But you are busy with the clamor…

But you are busy with the clamor….

With the exponential rise in social media and a now constant political cycle, we live in a clamorous world as voices bellow to be heard. They roar 24/7.

Yet, amid all the instant clamor, there is an eternal Voice that wants to be heard; a voice the must be heard.

It will take a stirring effort to be still; a conscious effort and much more than simply pushing a button on a white noise app.

He wants to teach us how; He wants to teach us how to be still in His presence.

However, are we ready to learn?

But you are busy with the clamor….
